How is the battery backup of Micromax Canvas HD A116

I have been using Micromax Canvas HD for around 2 months now and the experience has been tremendous! One thing that most of the smartphones fall short is at the battery back up. Or rather the battery drain issue. Yes, the fact stays that all these Dual core/Quad core machines needs a lot of juice to run power pack apps, so a battery drain is quite understandable. But this Canvas HD is out of this world. I tried to do a normal battery test where in I kept the wifi On and used my phone and to my surprise I got one full day with more than half of the battery left!

Micromax Canvas HD A116 low battery issue

Today, Chandra Sourabh Azad, one of the members of Canvas HD page on Facebook did a post on how he found (after a software test) that the battery on his Canvas HD is 1500 mAh. Curious enough, I also double checked it with 2 different battery stats software and I found that it was 1500 mAh in my case too where as Micromax says that Canvas HD comes with a 2000 mAH battery. Did any one come across this? Am I missing something here.

The box saying that Canvas HD has a 2000mAh battery
Battery Monitor test - shows 1500 mAh
Battery management - Shows 1500 mAh

Anything fishy here?

How to speed up your Canvas HD Android smartphone using Android Assistant

So many of you face issues with slow smartphones. So here is an app which will help you speed up your smartphone, for free and the app is very less in size too!

So here is what the app looks like

1. Monitor: Here you can monitor the current status of your Android smartphone eg: The CPU, Memory, Battery status, Phone storage etc.

Android assistant
2. Here you can see the list of processes currently running on your phone and according to your choice, you can kill any unwanted background processes.

3. This is the best thing about this app. The tool section. Here you can virtually access anything that will optimize your smartphone.

Volume control, Ringer, Save battery, cache cleaner, System clean, File manager, Installer & Uninstaller (You don't have to install or uninstall apps one by one - can be done in batches), APP2SD (Transfer applications to SD flawlessly. You don't need a different app to do that) and finally Backup and restore.

A few more screenshots from the application.

So if you want a real fast Android smartphone, this is the app that you should look out for. It sure will optimize your system and give you a great Android experience!

An easy trick to swap your external and internal memory on your Android phone Micromax Canvas HD

Many out there are facing one big problem with the Android smartphone Micromax Canvas HD. Everything is super awesome except for the internal SD, only 1.77 GB. For heavy gamers, this is a curse  But not to worry, You can actually swap your External memory to Internal just by following the below mentioned steps! For that, you need to root your phone.

Just click on the image for a better viewing size and follow the steps. I have numbered it from 1 to 10 as this should be the track that needs to be followed.

How to swap Internal and External memory on your Android smartphone

Image no 10 is where you have to make the changes. In my case, I have already made the change, and so I have put a red circle on the changes made. Do exactly what you see on the image.

A bit more clearer depiction

## Example of a standard sdcard mount for the emulator / Dream

# Mounts the first usable partition of the specified device

dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 emmc@fat /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.1/mmc_host
## Example of a dual card setup
# dev_mount left_sdcard  /mnt/sdcard1  auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.0/mmc_host/mmc0
# dev_mount right_sdcard /mnt/sdcard2  auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.2/mmc_host/mmc2

All you have to do is Interchange sdcard0 with sdcard1 and sdcard1 with sdcard0. If you look at the image you will see that that's what I have done. Once that its done, save the file. Reboot the system and go to settings and to storage and you will see that the memories have been swapped!

Please note, I am not assuring you that this works. I have tried this a few many times and has worked without a glitch for me. And I really hope this works for you too!
